About Irene Kiew
Irene Kiew Sieh Ping graduated with a degree in Law, landed her dream job, and was a journalist for four years. She then spent a year as an admin executive whilst trying to figure out which road to choose next in the adventure of life.
Having set her sights upon a fresh dream, she embarked on her Masters in Linguistics degree in December 2006 and plans to graduate in 2009. Being rather fond of eating, she puts food in her stomach (and pays the rent) by taking on a full-time day job as an office administrator for a non-profit organisation.
Writing has always come naturally to her and is in her blood. She once wrote a 100-page letter to a pen-pal just to see whether she could. Of course, she was 17 at the time and exam season is enough to drive anyone a little crazy. Then again, she likes to live by the motto Carpe diem ("seize the day") and has been known to boldly state, "No guts, no glory!"
She loves to read but does not seem to have enough time to read as much as she would like; consequently, about 80% of her books remain unread. This does not, however, prevent her from buying more books. One of her fondest wishes is to convert a room in her house into a personal library. As she is not currently a property owner, this remains a cherished dream.
29 years old and single, Irene hails from the small town of Sitiawan in the state of Perak and has fond memories of visiting the beach every Sunday evening with her family when she was a child. She now resides in the city of Petaling Jaya in Selangor.
She finds it a bit weird writing about herself in the third person, but is gleefully taking advantage of the opportunity to say good things about herself without sounding conceited!
